Licence and Update Policy
CRA Compliance Kit · Release 2026-10 · Effective 1 October 2026
In short: your company may use and adapt the templates for all of its own products, with as many employees as it needs, and share the finished documents with anyone who needs to see them. You may not sell or give away the templates themselves. Updates are free until at least the end of 2027.
1. Who is who
- Author and licensor: Özer Koray Akdemir, Gothenburg, Sweden ("we").
- Licensee: the company named on the purchase receipt ("you"). The licence type (Company or Consultant) is shown on the receipt.
- Kit: all files delivered as the CRA Compliance Kit, including templates, workbooks, guides, the worked example and later updates.
2. Company licence: what you may do
- Use the Kit inside your company (one legal entity) by any number of employees and contractors working for you.
- Use it for all products your company makes, imports or distributes.
- Copy, adapt, translate and combine the templates to create your own documents.
- Share your completed documents with market surveillance authorities, notified bodies, CSIRTs, ENISA, customers, suppliers, auditors and advisers. Your completed documents belong to you.
- Keep using the version you have after the update period ends.
Affiliated companies in the same group need their own licence, unless your receipt says "Group licence".
3. What you may not do
- Sell, sublicense, publish or give away the templates, workbooks or guides, in original or modified form, as templates or as part of another template product, training course or software tool.
- Upload the Kit to a public repository, file-sharing site or shared drive outside your company.
- Remove the author's name or the "not legal advice" notices from the guides.
- Use the Kit to deliver services to other companies, unless you hold a Consultant licence.
4. Consultant licence
A Consultant licence lets a consultancy use the Kit to deliver work to its clients. The client receives the completed documents and may use them under section 2, items 3-5. The client does not receive the right to reuse the blank templates for other work. Any client limits are stated on the receipt.
5. Update policy
- Period: free updates until 31 December 2027 or for 12 months after the purchase date, whichever is later.
- What triggers an update: harmonised standards for the CRA cited in the Official Journal; implementing or delegated acts, for example on the notification format, the SBOM format or the simplified technical documentation; new or revised Commission guidance; changes to ENISA's Single Reporting Platform; errors found in the Kit.
- Corrections: a confirmed error in a legal statement is corrected within 30 days of being confirmed.
- How you receive updates: by an updated download from the store where you bought the Kit, with release notes listing every changed file and its new version number.
- After the update period: your licence continues for the versions you received. Further updates may be offered at a renewal price.
6. No legal advice, no guarantee
The Kit explains Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 in plain words and reflects common practice as checked on the date shown in each file. It is not legal advice. It does not replace the regulation, guidance from the Commission or ENISA, or advice from qualified counsel. Using the Kit does not guarantee that a product conforms, or that an authority or notified body will accept your documents. You remain responsible for your products and your compliance decisions.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the Kit is limited to the price you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost data, fines or penalties imposed on you, or costs of recalls. Nothing in this licence limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
8. Third-party material
The Kit refers to EU legislation, Commission and ENISA publications, and to ISO, IEC, CEN, CENELEC and ETSI standards by number only. It reproduces no standard text. EU legislation is quoted or paraphrased under the EU's reuse policy. The worked example uses a fictional company, fictional people and fictional documents; the .example web addresses do not exist.
9. Ending the licence
If you breach sections 3 or 4 and do not fix the breach within 30 days of our notice, the licence ends and you must stop using the blank templates. Completed documents you created before that date remain yours.
10. Law and disputes
This licence is intended for business customers. Swedish law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the courts of Gothenburg, Sweden, unless mandatory law gives you another forum.
